SGML/XML character entity reference

This is an attempt to make an overview of SGML/XML character entities in ISO 8879:1986 and their LaTeX equivalents. It is also a handy reference to the ISO character entities for non-LaTeX users as it shows the visual appearance of the character entities.

Reference documentation

The reference presents the character entities with glyphs and descriptive texts. An ultra fat-reduced no nonsense (only 4 pages) alphabetically sorted quick reference is also available.

Conversion to other codepages

A table with mappings (bz2) to other encodings is available in XML format. It covers ISO 8879, ISO 9573-13, HTML-4, MathML, ASCII, ISO 8859-1, LaTeX, and Unicode (and STIX).

Catalog entries and DTD modules for including ISO 8879 and ISO 9573-13 character entity sets in an SGML/XML application. Additional LaTeX packages are needed to display all these character entities.
